NBA fans’ voting for All-Star selection has already begun from Christmas Day. Let us check on possible starting five from Eastern Conference.
NBA All-Star 2022 will be held in Cleveland, and Eastern Team will be having some of their stars in the game. Though the format of the game is different from the last 3 seasons, Voting for starting 5 players is done as per east and west regions only.
We have seen Western Conference probable starting 5 in the previous article, now let us focus on the talented Eastern challengers,
Guard: Trae Young
One might be surprised to see Trae Young as the very 1st name on the list, but the Atlanta Hawks guard has performed exceptionally well in a struggling team. He is second in the scoring championship race averaging 28.4 points per game. His recent performances might give him the nod in the starting 5 ahead of James Harden.
Young guard is well famous for his style of play and swag on the court. He will be handling the ball for Eastern All-stars.
Guard: DeMar DeRozan
The second guard position would be a tough call for the Eastern side as many of the players like Fred VanVleet, Zach LaVine have also performed well, but DeMar DeRozan might have an edge overall with his experience and mid-range shooting efficiency.
DeRozan had been a good performer for the Spurs, but since his move to the Bulls, his performances have reached another level. He is “Mr. Clutch” this season draining the buzzers beaters on regular basis.
Forward: Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is taunted to be the next face of the NBA. The prolific shooter is leading the top scorer list and also making big plays for his team. Interestingly he has never been a top vote-getter in his career. KD will play in his 10th All-star game with 7th as starting player.
His performance with the Brooklyn Nets will defiantly give him an All-Star starting place, but he might not get a chance to captain any side.
Forward: Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Greek Freak seems to have no off button whatsoever. He is putting up huge numbers on both ends of the floor. He completes the top 3 scorers list in NBA this season, with his eastern All-Star teammates.
Antetokounmpo averages 27.9 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists this season. They are staggering stats when you add 2 blocks and 1 steal per game in the defensive category. It is just crazy what this young player is capable of doing.
Center: Joel Embiid
Philadelphia 76ers’ engine, Joel Embiid will complete the eastern powerful team. Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen is also giving some match-winning performances, which will give him an All-star appearance but might not be a starting berth.
Embiid has been a key player for Philly this season carrying the team (not single-handedly) through difficult games. Joel could face off against any tough opponent from any region actually.
There you go, you can mention your eastern conference starting lineup in the comment box. Please vote for your favourite stars.
