Kevin Durant’s Twitter activity suggests that the Brooklyn Nets superstar has backed American football player Carson Wentz to star at the Washington Commanders.
Carson Wentz is an American football quarterback who has recently completed a transfer to the Washington Commanders in the National Football League (NFL). The 29-year-old quarterback has enjoyed a six-year-long career in the NFL, where he has played for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indiana Colts – and most recently for Washington after securing a move this summer.
Wentz is a Super Bowl champion with the Eagles after he helped the Philadelphia franchise win their first ever NFL title in 2017, and his transfer to the Washington Commanders this summer meant that the franchise were acquiring a proven NFL superstar who would create an instant impact for the franchise. And as it turns out, Wentz has done exactly that – and some more.
In a video posted by NFL analyst Warren Sharp from a game between the Washington Commanders and the Jacksonville Jaguars – Wentz’s instant impact on his new team was there to be seen. On his debut for his new franchise, Wentz orchestrated a brilliant touchdown in the final quarter to cap off a game where he threw 313 yards and had four touchdowns.
The Commanders came back from behind to win the game 28-22, and Wentz got plenty of praise for an impressive first performance for his new team.
What does Kevin Durant have to do with this?
In an unexpected crossover, NBA superstar Kevin Durant joined in the praise.
The president of the Commanders quoted Sharp’s tweet and said,
“I agree. A man of mental fortitude, who after 24th quarter picks that conjured bad memories, dug deep, found his poise, pushed aside negative thoughts, and rallied us to victory. An overcomer, to be succinct. Exactly who we thought he was.”.
However, the tweet truly went viral when Kevin Durant liked it. Durant is a vocal fan of the NFL, and his like on the tweet meant that the Nets superstar backs Wentz to star at his new franchise – and the start he has had will certainly help him.
