Khalil Herbert is an American football running back who currently plays for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. Herbert was born on April 21, 1998. (NFL). Before going to Virginia Tech in 2020 to continue his NCAA football career, he played for Kansas. During the 2021 NFL Draft, Herbert was selected by the Bears in the sixth round of the draft.

Herbert began the 2022 season as the Bears’ second-string running back, behind Montgomery. Montgomery was the Bears’ starting running back. After Bears starter running back Montgomery went down with an injury during Week 3 of the game on September 25, 2022, against the Houston Texans, Herbert took over and carried for 157 yards on 20 rushes while scoring 2 touchdowns. The Bears won the game 23–20. As a result of his performance against the Texans, Herbert was recognized as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
