Dana White has officially confirmed the clash between Khamzat Chimaev and Dricus Du Plessis will take place this year. There were reports that the clash between these UFC Middleweight fighters was cancelled, but the CEO of MMA has confirmed the fight is on. Many reports revealed Dricus Du Plessis was injured and ruled out of the bout against Khamzat Chimaev, but the fighter cleared the rumors and confirmed he is ready for the battle.
Before Dana White, Dricus Du Plessis himself confirmed he was not injured and he never signed for the International Fight week in June 2025 on his Instagram account. It has been revealed that Dricus Du Plessis will defend his title against Khamzat Chimaev, but the date for the event is not confirmed yet.

As of now, the date for the blockbuster clash between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev is not revealed. Dana White confirmed the event would take place in 2025. Dricus Du Plessis also confirmed the date will be revealed in the coming weeks. Here is what he wrote in his social media post, “Fight announcement coming soon, stay tuned.”
Dricus Du Plessis defended his Middleweight title against Sean Strickland at UFC 312. The UFC clash took place in February 2025 where Dricus Du Plessis continued his winning streak. On the other hand, Khamzat Chimaev has never lost a fight in MMA events, but he is yet to win a UFC title.
