Leeds United vs Preston predictions: Leeds United line-up
Leeds United will look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat at Birmingham City when they face Preston at Deepdale on Tuesday evening.
The Whites have fallen out of the automatic-promotion spots with six games to go after a disappointing performance at St Andrew’s. Marcelo Bielsa will need to pick up his boys and make them ready for a tricky trip to Alex Neil’s Preston.
Preston, who lie tenth in the table, will look to dampen Leeds’ automatic promotion hopes further.
Team News
Leeds full-back Barry Douglas will miss rest of the season after rupturing knee ligaments.
Marcelo Bielsa has no injury concerns ahead of the game at Preston.
Probable Leeds United XI
Formation: 4-1-4-1
Manager: Marcelo Bielsa
Kiko Casilla (GK)
Produced his best performance in a Leeds’ shirt last weekend. Casilla will be aiming to put in a strong display and keep a clean sheet this time.
Luke Ayling (RB)
Ayling is getting back to his old self and that’s a positive sign for Bielsa and Leeds. He is expected to keep his place at right-back.
Pontus Jansson (CB)
The Swede’s return from injury at Birmingham came as a massive boost to Bielsa. He will start in central defence on Tuesday.
Liam Cooper (CB)
Leeds’ defensive lynchpin, Cooper has been one of the first names on the team sheet and alongside Jansson, he will be hoping to register a clean sheet at Preston.
Ezgjan Alioski (LB)
Alioski has done admirably well at left-back and Bielsa is expected to stick with the Macedonian on Tuesday.
Kalvin Phillips (CDM)
Phillips is one of the important players in Bielsa’s system. He protects the backline very well and covers a lot of ground, making him so vital for the team.
Pablo Hernandez (RW)
The Spaniard is Leeds’ most creative player and Preston will have to especially be wary of him.
Tyler Roberts (RCM)
Roberts has done very well in the last few games and should keep his place in the team.
Mateusz Klich (LCM)
Klich’s energy, intensity and passion for the team remain unmatched. He will start in usual role at Deepdale.

Jack Clarke (LW)
With Harrison struggling to hit form and was hauled off at half-time against Birmingham, Bielsa could go with Clarke on the left. The teenager is a livewire and will look to impress his manager at Preston.
Patrick Bamford (ST)
Bamford was culpable of missing a lot of chances in the 1-0 defeat at Birmingham. However, he could be handed a start on Tuesday to redeem himself.
