Predicted 4-2-3-1 Liverpool XI to face Bournemouth in the Premier League
Liverpool came back from behind to win 3-1 against Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Reds are currently 2nd in the standings, just a couple of points behind Manchester City and the onus will be on them to continue their unbeaten run when they make the trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth.
Bournemouth put an end to their four-game losing streak in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday but the Cherries will be up against it when they face Liverpool this weekend.
Team News
Joe Gomez suffered an ankle injury against Burnley as is ruled out for Saturday’s clash while Andrew Robertson (thigh), Sadio Mane (ankle) and Dejan Lovren (illness) will be pushing for a return.
Dominic Solanke and Nathaniel Clyne are unlikely to feature at the weekend as they continue to recover from their injuries while Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is a long-term absentee.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Jurgen Klopp
Predicted XI
1. Alisson (GK)
He put in a decent shift in the last game and has been in tremendous form between the sticks this season.
2. Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)
The youngster didn’t start against Burnley and should be fresh and ready to go at the weekend.
3. Virgil van Dijk (CB)
He was rock solid at the back against Burnley and has been in good form at the heart of the defence for the Reds this season.
4. Joel Matip (CB)
Joe Gomez is ruled out and Dejan Lovren is not fully fit so the Cameroonian is likely to continue at the heart of the backline alongside van Dijk.
5. Andrew Robertson (LB)
The Scotsman didn’t start against Burnley but that was more of a precautionary measure and he should be back against Bournemouth.
6. Naby Keita (CDM)
Showed a lot of intent in the midfield and drove forward with pace against Burnley. Klopp should hand him another start to allow him to grow in confidence.
7. Georginio Wijnaldum (CDM)
He didn’t feature in the mid-week game but he has been one of the first names on Klopp’s team sheet this season and is likely to start on Saturday.
8. Xherdan Shaqiri (RW)
The Swiss international continued his fine run of form against Burnley and netted in injury-time.
9. James Milner (LW)
The veteran had a productive outing at Burnley and he should continue on the left if Mane doesn’t make it to the eleven.
10. Roberto Firmino (CAM)
The Brazilian came on as a substitute against Burnley, which is a clear indication that he is going to start against Bournemouth.
