Predicted 4-2-3-1 Liverpool XI to face Everton in the Premier League

Liverpool slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint Germain on Matchday 5 of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Reds romped home to a comfortable 3-0 win against Watford last week in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold and Roberto Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are still unbeaten in the Premier League and they will be the favourites to claim three points when they play host to Everton on Sunday for the Merseyside derby.

Everton beat Cardiff City 1-0 last week and Marco Silva’s men will have to be at the top of their game to halt Liverpool’s juggernaut.

Team News

Liverpool will be without the services of Jordan Henderson who is suspended for one game for having picked up a red card against Watford last week.

Adam Lallana is suffering from a muscular injury and will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s clash while Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi are doubtful to feature on the bench.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Predicted XI

1. Alisson (GK)

The Brazilian came up with some fine saves in the Champions League and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster will be in high spirits after scoring with a delightful free-kick against Watford last week.

3. Joe Gomez (CB)

He struggled against Neymar in an unfamiliar right-back position in the last game and will need to improve on Sunday.

4. Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The towering Dutchman looked sloppy at the back against PSG and Liverpool will need him to be at the top of his game against Everton.

5. Andrew Robertson (LB)

The Scotsman was arguably the pick of Liverpool’s backline in the Champions League tie and has always contributed a lot to the attack down the left.

6. Georginio Wijnaldum (CDM)

He struggled to get into the game against PSG but Klopp should continue to rely on him as he has been the pivot of Liverpool’s midfield this season.

7. Fabinho (CDM)

The Brazilian has impressed with his passing and ball distribution for the Reds and Klopp should hand him a start for this one.

8. Xherdan Shaqiri (RW)

He came on as a substitute in the last game but Liverpool should rely on him to add that energy and cutting edge to the attack.

9. Sadio Mane (LW)

He saw glimpses of his brilliance in the Champions League and had a brilliant game against Watford last week.

10. Roberto Firmino (CAM)

The Brazilian played as the spearhead of the attack against PSG but failed to have any significant impact and Klopp should deploy him in a No.10 role on Sunday.
