Here is everything you should know about the wins split-up of UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou
Francis Ngannou, the UFC heavyweight champion is undoubtedly the most terrifying fighter on the promotion’s roster. Having made his UFC debut in December 2015, Ngannou made a name for himself as a knockout artist.
Until he met Stipe Miocic at UFC 220 (for the heavyweight title), Ngannou’s previous six UFC wins were finishes – 5 KOs and 1 submission.
Miocic and Lewis beat Ngannou via. unanimous decision resulting in back-to-back losses for the Cameroonian. He then bounced back with yet another string of knockout wins that also saw him KO Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 to win the heavyweight title.
At UFC 270, Frenchman Ciryl Gane became the first fighter to prevent Ngannou from winning via. a KO or submission. Having dominated the early rounds of the title fight, Gane was flummoxed by Ngannou’s new, improved and previously unseen ground game.
Although ‘The Predator’ couldn’t finish Gane, he won via. unanimous decision. This was his first-ever decision win.
Francis Ngannou has had a total of 20 fights in his MMA career. He has won 17 fights and lost just 3. All three of his losses have come via. unanimous decision.
Out of the 17 fights he has won, 12 have been via. knockout, 4 by submission and just one via. decision – the recent one against Ciryl Gane.
There were many a chance of Ngannou’s finish record remaining clean during the fight against Gane. However, ‘Bon Gamin’ was slick and agile and never really got caught in Ngannou’s Escort-esque crossfire.
