Kobe Bryant was a magnificent high school player from the Lower Merion High Varsity team. Bryant skipped college and directly entered the NBA draft. He was subsequently drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
With the help of Phil Jackson and Shaquille O’Neal, Bryant won three championships back-to-back. It was in the year 2000, 2001 and 2002. Also, in the mid-2000s, he gave himself the nickname ‘Black Mamba’.
