WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston recently made some interesting comments regarding Daniel Bryan and the WrestleMania match that arguably stole the show this year. Kingston appeared on Corey Graves’ ‘After The Bell’ podcast and praised Bryan for “pushing” for the match earlier this year. Kofi defeated Bryan for the WWE Championship earlier this year at WrestleMania and held the title until SmackDown debuted on the FOX Network. Kingston would lose that match to Brock Lesnar in lightning quick fashion.
“[Daniel Bryan] pushed for that to happen because the plans weren’t for me to be at WrestleMania,” Kingston stated. “I’m not sure who it was for Daniel to face but it wasn’t me. Daniel went in and went to bat for me. And for the situation for the title match between us to happen so he had a big part in it, too.”
Kingston also praised Bryan for realising the potential of the match at ‘Mania. “It’s a testament for his state of mind as far as advancing the business and doing the right thing for the people and for the best match or product for the people to take in. So kudos to Daniel Bryan!”
