The world No. 8 Cameron Norrie takes on the world No. 46 Jenson Brooksby in the quarter-finals of the Korea Open on Friday.
The British No. 1 will be a force to reckon with in the tournament. He has already bagged two titles this year. The first one came at the Delray Beach Open in February, when he defeated Reilly Opelka in the final. Norrie’s second title came at the Lyon Open, where he got the better of Alex Molcan in the final. The 27-year-old played some fantastic tennis en route to reaching the 2022 Wimbledon semi-final.
In the round of 16, Norrie put on a clinical show and made light work of Japan’s Kaichi Uchida to win in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, in just over an hour.
The eighth seed came into the tournament on the back of a quarter-final exit at the San Diego Open. He was defeated by Christopher O’Connell in a tight match. Brooksby has made it to two finals this year at the Dallas Open and the Atlanta Open.
In the first round of the Korea Open, Brooksby dug deep to defeat Tung-Lin Wu 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6,0. Soonwoo Kwon faced Brooksby in the second round the American youngster won the match 6-3, 6-4 to set up a meeting with Cameron Norrie.
Cameron Norrie leads the head-to-head 1-0. They faced each other at the Indian Wells Masters earlier this year. Norrie won the match 6-2, 6-4.
Prediction: Cameron Norrie to win in straight sets.
