Find out how to capture the two Legendary Pokemon from the Hoenn region, Kyogre and Groudon, in Pokemon BDSP.
The remakes of the generation IV Pokemon games are here with some new pokemon and content. Some are saying that the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are better than the original ones. That is a loaded statement that can be properly examined after replaying the games for hours. But what the remakes, Pokemon BDSP, do offer is the ability to catch the Gen III mascots Kyogre and Groudon.
Pokemon BDSP has made Kyogre and Groudon finally accessible in the Sinnoh region. The Gen III mascots could only be acquired through cheating or trading in the original games. In the guide below, you can learn how to catch these land and sea Pokemon.
How to Find Kyogre and Groudon in Pokemon BDSP?
Loyal Pokemon Fans will know the usual requirements to capture a legendary pokemon from another region. Players will need to complete certain objectives to be able to capture the two legendary Pokemon. Don’t worry they are fairly easy and can be done along with story mode. Here are the steps needed to catch the Legendary Pokemon in BDSP –
- Players need to collect all 8 gym badges and defeat the Elite 4 with Champion Cynthia. This will crown them as the Pokemon Champion of the Sinnoh region.
- The players will need to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex by ‘seeing’ all 150 Pokemon. You don’t need to capture all of them but you just need them registered in your Pokedex.
- After both these conditions are met, head over to Sandgem Town to meet Professor Rowan. He will verify your progress and then he will give you the National Pokedex.
- You will need the National Pokedex to catch all the other non Sinnoh Pokemon.
- You will now get a message that says you can now visit Ramanas Park.
- To reach Ramanas Park, walk south of Sandgem Town until you reach a beach shore. Use Surf HM to swim at Route 219. Keep traveling east through Route 220 and 221.
- You will finally reach the Ramanas Park. You can find Kyogre and Groudon in the Tectonic and Oceanic rooms in Ramans Park Pokemon BDSP.
- But in order for them to actually spawn there, you will need the Tectonic Slate and the Oceanic Slate from the receptionist at Ramanas Park.
How to catch Kyogre and Groudon in Pokemon BDSP
Players can access the Ramanas Park south of Sandgem Town after they beat the elite 4 and Champion Cynthia. They will obtain the National Pokedex and will be free to roam around the world and catch all the pokemon in Sinnoh region. The Ramnas Park feature in Pokemon BDSP is made specifically for players who want to capture all the Legendary Pokemon.
Unique caves can be found around the park, and each room is designed after a Legendary Pokemon. You must first unlock a Slate that matches to the room in order for the legendary pokemon to spawn within it. Trainers must unlock eight slates before purchasing their Oceanic and Tectonic Slates in order to obtain Groudon and Kyogre in Pokemon BDSP.
- Before you can capture Kyogre and Groudon in Pokemon BDSP, you will have to catch all the other legendaries from the previous generations
- First you can buy the Discovery Slate to try and catch Regice, Regirock, and Registeel.
- To buy these Slates, you will need a special type of currency that can be obtained from the Grand Underground.
- Use the Explorer Kit to go to the Grand Underground. Once you are in the caverns, use your pickaxe and start digging at walls.
- You will need to find either 1 Msytery Shard (L) or 3 Mystery Shards to buy a single Slate. So keep digging until you find enough to get 10 Slates.
- If you aren’t finding any shards, you enter Hideaways and exit them to reset the Underground Walls.
- You can repeat this method until you get enough Shards.
- Players will need 3 Discovery Slates for the 3 Regis, 2 Johto/Kanto Slates for the Legendary Bests Trio and the Legendary Birds trio. The legendary beasts are available for Brilliant Diamond while Legendary Brids are available for Shining Pearl. Two Soul Slates need to unlock Latios and Latias.
- After that you will finally be able to unlock the Tectonic Slates and the Oceanic Slates from the receptionist in Ramanas Park.
Using this method you will be able to encounter Kyogre and Groudon in Pokemon BDSP. Gamefreak has changed the mechanism to catch some of the legendary pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The new mechanism uses the Grand Underground to unlock the currency required for these legendary Pokemon.
