Kyree Walker Career
Kyree Walker had a legendary high school basketball career. Walker first gained national attention for his slam dunks in various highlight videos. All throughout his middle school, Walker faced older opponents but always managed to overcome the competition. Notably, his Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team was Oakland Soldiers.
Walker began his high school basketball career at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, California. In his high school freshman year, Walker averaged 21.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and four assists per game. His valiant efforts lead his team to a California Interscholastic Federation Division II runner-up finish. Consequently, he was named MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year.
In his sophomore season, Walker transferred to Hillcrest Prep Academy, a basketball program based in Phoenix, Arizona. Then on October 25, 2019, during his senior year, Walker left Hillcrest Prep, with the intention to move to the college or professional level.
Nevertheless, in December 2019, Walker graduated from high school but notably did not play high school basketball as he considered his future options.
Further, while playing in high school, Walker received several NCAA Division I college offers. But on June 30, 2017, Walker committed to play college basketball for Arizona State University. However, on October 21, 2018, Walker de-committed from Arizona State University. Finally, on April 20, 2020, as a four-star recruit, Walker announced that he would forego college basketball.
After announcing that he would forgo college basketball, Walker subsequently entered the 2021 NBA Draft. However, Walker went undrafted.
