LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players ever and he has a decent record in NBA finals with a few MVP awards and rings too
LeBron James has achieved a lot in his career both on the basketball courts and outside of it. The Akron, Ohio star was picked to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers right out of high school in 2003 and he hasn’t disappointed one bit.
Many believe he is the best basketball player ever, alongside the great Michael Jordan, and he still has a few years left in him.
James holds quite a few records having played for three NBA teams in his career. He has led each of them to an NBA Championship and also won the NBA Finals MVP.
However, his record in NBA finals isn’t all that great despite having played for the Miami Heat as well as the Los Angeles Lakers.
Every NBA Champion is provided a ring and LeBron James has won four rings in his career so far.
The first of his NBA Championship rings came with his second team. The Heat. Miami won the title when James had the help of Dywane Wade and Chris Bosh.
This took place in 2012 and LeBron then won his second ring as the Heat defended their title in 2013.
James the had to wait three years before he won his third ring this time with the Cavaliers in 2016.
His fourth and final ring, so far, came in his second season with the Lakers.
For all the talk of James being one of the best ever, his finals record isn’t all that great in the NBA.
James has won four out of 10 finals only, while the great Michael Jordan was a perfect six out of six in the finals.
James lost his first two appearances with the Cavaliers in 2007 and 2011. He won his first title with the Heat in 2012 and then again in 2013.
The American then lost two more finals in 2014 and 2015 before getting his third title with the Cavs in 2016.
A couple of more losses in 2017 and 2018 saw him finally lift his fourth title, this time with the Lakers in 2020.
The NBA has multiple MVP awards throughout a league season. There is the regular season MVP, the NBA Finals MVP and the All-Star Game MVP.
James has won the All-Star MVP thrice. The first time he won it was in 2006, he then won it in 2008 and 2018.
James won the regular season MVP four times too with his first award coming in 2009 and the others coming in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
The NBA Finals MVP has been won four times by LeBron. The first title came during his time with Miami in their 2012 title-winning season.
James won it in 2013 and then in the title winning seasons of 2016 and 2020 for the Cavs and the Lakers, respectively.
