According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in signing Austrian centre-forward Sasa Kalajdzic in the summer, with Premier League sides Brighton and Crystal Palace also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old frontman, who has made eyeballs turn with his scintillating run of form.
The same report claims that Leeds will need to fend off interest from several European clubs, including Genk, Nice, Red Bull Salzburg and Espanyol if they are to get their hands on the Austrian.
Kalajdzic has accumulated 6 goals and 3 assists for FC Admira Wacker in the Austrian Bundesliga this season, including 5 a swashbuckling run that has seen him bag 5 goals in his last 5 league outings for the club.
In all, Kalajdzic has amassed 10 goals and 10 assists from 30 appearances for Admira Wacker in all competitions, with his goalscoring heroics prompting bigger European clubs to pursue a keen interest in him.
It is quite clear that Sasa Kalajdzic is likely to have offers from the Premier League and La Liga come the end of the season and Leeds would need to secure promotion to have a realistic chance of striking a deal for the promising youngster.
The Whites have done ever so well to get themselves on the brink of promotion under the stewardship of Marcelo Bielsa but they might still fall short of their goal following successive defeats to Wigan Athletic and Brentford in the Championship.
Leeds have already slipped below the automatic promotion places, and with two games to go, it is high time for them to get their campaign back on track.
Attacking reinforcements should be high on Bielsa’s wishlist for the summer if Leeds do manage to end their long absence from the top-flight. Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe have contributed significantly towards the club’s promotion push with some crucial goals but the Whites still need to look for more options in the transfer window.
While both Roofe and Bamford are technically-gifted and versatile strikers, who are also capable of playing in a No.10 role, height and physicality are two things that Leeds currently lack in their attacking ranks.
They would need to bring in a tall and towering centre-forward to add another dimension to their attack and Sasa Kalajdzic certainly fits the bill at Elland Road.
To put things into perspective, Sasa Kalajdzic might prove to be a useful signing for Leeds United in the summer, though there is an element of risk involved given that the player is still in the developmental phase of his career and relatively unproven at the highest level.
The Whites need to scout the player extensively to make sure that he is, indeed, capable of making the step up to the Premier League.
Standing with a gigantic 6ft. 5-inch frame, Sasa Kalajdzic is an absolute beast of a No.9, who excels with his physicality and aerial ability, while also possessing the poaching instincts and awareness of an out-and-out old-school centre-forward.
He not only has the ability to lose his marker inside the box but he is also good at holding the ball up with his back to the goal. Furthermore, he has a powerful left foot that is capable of leaving the goalkeeper for dead with vicious strikes from range.

Kalajdzic has already represented Austria at the U-21 level and has been tipped to be the nation’s future poster boy after Marko Arnautovic and David Alaba. Leeds, though, would need to do really well to get their hands on the Austrian prodigy, with so many clubs monitoring the progress of the talented youngster.
