Leeds United Opinion: Why the Whites should go for Sasa Kalajdzic?
According to a report from Welt Fussball, Leeds United are interested in Admira Wacker forward Sasa Kalajdzic, although they’ll face competition from Union Berlin, Stuttgart and FC Cologne.
The 21-year-old was impressive in his breakthrough season with Admira Wacker, as he bagged eight goals and supplied five assists in 15 appearances. And it seems that his impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with Leeds United keen to lure him away to Elland Road this summer.
Sasa Kalajdzic, for now, remains under contract for one more season with Admira Wacker in Austria. So there’s every chance of him being available on a bargain deal this summer. Keeping that in mind, Leeds must go all out to sign the 21-year-old.
Marcelo Bielsa has been hugely impressive in his first season at Elland Road, and he’ll be aiming to guide the Whites to promotion this time around. The Argentinean tactician faces a crucial summer transfer window, as he looks to build a squad capable of mounting another challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
One of the most important areas that Bielsa must address this summer is his forward department. Leeds could mightily benefit from having another striker in their ranks next season, as they struggled to score goals during the business end of the campaign that apparently saw them miss out on automatic promotion.
Kemar Roofe was the Whites’ chief source of goals and in his injury absence, Bielsa’s men found goals tough to come by. Patrick Bamford endured an injury-hit debut season at Elland Road and Bielsa will hope the striker delivers the goods next term. Clearly, the Yorkshire club need more firepower and up front and Bielsa must take a punt on Sasa Kalajdzic.
Kalajdzic is a tall, lanky forward, who’ll add goals and assists to Leeds. He is also capable of playing in central midfield, which means the 21-year-old would add versatility and firepower to Bielsa’s team that is expected to go all out for promotion in the 2019/20 campaign.

A composed finisher in front of goal, the Austrian youngster is also an asset to have from set-pieces in the box due to his towering frame and heading ability. Truly, he’ll provide a different dimension to Leeds’ attack if Bielsa manages to sign him from Admira Wacker.
Verdict
Kalajdzic would be a gamble for the Whites as he doesn’t have any experience of playing in England. But Bielsa needs depth in his squad and if the 21-year-old can quickly adapt to the demands of the Championship, he could prove to be an inspired addition for the Yorkshire club.
