Engine

Coronet 500 was one of the rare Dodge models with multiple engine options. When it was unveiled in 1965, the models were equal with 6-Cylinder engines which delivered great fuel efficiency. The later models were built using small-block V8 engines. Some models also featured the Hemi V8 and big-block V8 engines.  These units were the performance-oriented versions of the Coronet 500. Dodge Coronet 500 was a RWD model with a top speed of 150mph in some models. Vehicles with the 426 Hemi V8 engines delivered raw performances.

Unlike other Dodge cars, the Coronet 500 were available in multi forms like hardtop, convertible, and sedans. First, it was launched as 2 door hardtops. Overall, the entire sales of Coronet 500 were more than 2 lakhs. The production was stopped after 1969, but the restored models are still available.

It Was Affordable 

Dodge Coronet 500 was a performance package. It offered great speed, durability, and comfort. This is why people were ready to splurge huge bucks for this Dodge model. The Dodge Coronet 500 was sold for $2,700 USD on average. Models with the best engines were sold for around $4,000 USD. Coronet 500 cars are now available in collector markets for $80,000 USD to $200, 000 USD.
