According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Leicester City are planning to make a bid for Inter Milan star, Ivan Perisic.
The 30-year-old was in decent form for Inter last season, racking up nine goals and eight assists in 45 appearances in all competitions after mightily impressing in the World Cup with Russia. The report claims that he could be available for €35 million this summer.
Leicester City will go into next season with the ambition of qualifying for European competition after finishing just five points behind seventh-placed Wolves. Brendan Rodgers has made a telling impact since joining the Foxes in midst of the last campaign and he’ll be eager to rebuild the squad this summer.
Rodgers has inherited an exciting, young squad from Claude Puel and with the necessary reinforcements, the Midlands outfit could be well-equipped to break into the top six next term.
The 46-year-old tactician has been key to everything; bringing an air of positivity around the King Power Stadium, the professionalism, the amount of detail and how he has improved the existing players. So, it’s very important for the Leicester board to back Rodgers fully in the transfer market.
The Northern Irish tactician has a thrilling attacking unit, which comprises the likes of Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Demarai Gray and Rachid Ghezzal. Rodgers will be keen to beef up his attack and even though Perisic is a good player whose style of play will suit at the King Power Stadium, he is nearly past his prime.
The Croat is vastly experienced in playing at the very highest level, and he could be a smart signing for any of Premier League’s mid-table clubs. He has entered his 30s, however, so the hardworking winger might find it hard to adjust to the rough demands of the Premier League immediately. He will only regress from here on and is valued at €35 million.

For that money, Rodgers could easily get a young, talented attacker with huge potential that would fit perfectly into his style of play and would be a sound investment as well. It’s now about identifying the right players for Leicester if they are to progress next season and in that case, Perisic doesn’t fit the bill.
Rodgers has totally transformed the Foxes since taking over at the King Power Stadium earlier this year and with the aura he’s got, players will certainly want to sign for Leicester. As far as Perisic is concerned, though, the Midlands outfit must dodge the bullet.
