Leicester City have endured another season full of highs and lows in the Premier League and the Foxes are slowly but surely moving away from the club that upset the odds to win the Premier League title three years ago.
The architects of their successful 2015-16 Premier League campaign- N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez, Danny Drinkwater and others have completed mega-money moves to bigger clubs, leaving the Foxes with a massive rebuilding job on their hands.
Leicester need to start right from the scratch once again if they are to get back to the upper echelons of the Premier League and it is definitely not an easy job in such a highly-competitive league. The Foxes need to build a solid core of first-team stars and lay down a platform for continued success in the years to come.
In Demarai Gray, James Maddison, Hamza Choudhury, Harvey Barnes, Wilfred Ndidi and Ben Chilwell, Leicester have some top-quality young players in their ranks who have the potential to propel the club to great heights in the foreseeable future.
Hence, it would be fair to say that they have got all the raw materials for success, and in Brendan Rodgers, the Foxes have the perfect man in charge to extract the best out of the plethora of young talents in the squad.
Well, Harvey Barnes is certainly one of the brightest young prospects to have graduated from Leicester’s academy in recent times.
He has proven his worth as a versatile attacking midfielder in the Championship on his loan spells at Barnsley and West Brom and has already made a strong start to his Premier League career.
He is one of those players who plays with a lot of youthful exuberance and gives his hundred per cent on the pitch, while possessing impressive well-rounded attributes to develop into a international stalwart in the future.
Barnes excels with his pace and trickery on the ball, running at defenders with directness and cutting inside from the flanks to create space for himself. His creative passing and good vision mean that he is equally suited to a No.10 role behind the striker.
