According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are among a host of clubs tracking Eintracht Frankfurt youngster Evan N’Dicka.
The 20-year-old has impressed at Eintracht Frankfurt since joining from AJ Auxerre in the summer of 2018. He made 36 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring a goal and two assists. The left-footed centre-back has shone this term as well, racking up a goal and two assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.
Apart from Liverpool, the likes of Arsenal, Valencia, Sevilla, Inter Milan and AC Milan have also been keen on N’Dicka, the report adds.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have been in scintillating form this season and are currently 25 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the league standings. Jurgen Klopp has taken his team to greater heights and has already won the Champions League last season. Before the Premier League was suspended, however, the Reds endured a couple of disappointing results.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were eliminated from the FA Cup and the Champions League earlier this month. They crashed out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid and were dumped out by Chelsea in the FA Cup a week earlier.
As things stand, the Premier League is suspended until April 30. Should it resume after April 30, Liverpool would need just two wins to lift the Premier League title.
The ever-dependable front three consisting of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have impressed once again. And at the same time, Liverpool’s defence has been rock solid. Virgil van Dijk has been crucial in leading the defensive unit, featuring in every league game so far.
The Dutchman has been partnered by Joe Gomez in central defence, with the duo helping the Reds to the best defensive record in the division.
Joel Matip has been a reliable figure at the back and is yet to play since returning from injury last month. Dejan Lovren has made only nine Premier League starts this season and his future remains uncertain, Sky Sports claims.
Keeping that in mind, it is important for Klopp to strengthen his options at the back before the start of 2020/21 campaign and he would be wise to sign Evan N’Dicka from Eintracht Frankfurt.
N’Dicka has produced some excellent performances for Frankfurt this season, with manager Adi Hutter often deploying him as a left-back. Such versatility should come handy for Klopp as the 20-year-old could also be a backup for left-back Andy Robertson, who has missed only one league game this term.
The France U21 international could be a valuable asset to the Liverpool boss if he continues to perform in the same vein of form. N’Dicka would add depth to Liverpool’s squad and can also provide competition within the team. He is just 20 and has a lot of room for development.
Liverpool have roped in bright emerging defensive talents like Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg in recent times from across the continent and Evan N’Dicka could be yet another exciting addition to the existing pool of burgeoning young talents at Anfield.
