In 2018, he progressed to the US Open boys’ singles final. He reached the top of ITF junior rankings in the world on 10 June 2019. He won the 2019 Australian Open boys’ singles title by defeating Emilio Nava.

The Monte Carlo local made it to the quarter-finals at the ATP 500 Rotterdam Open. During the campaign, he defeated then world No. 11 Hubert Hurkacz in the second round.
In Monte Carlo, Musetti registered the second top 10 win of his career by defeating then world number 9 Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round.
