Kawhi Leonard won the NBA title, won the Finals MVP and bolted to join the Los Angeles Clippers.
“Bolting” might be a bit of a stretch as his trade drama was the main story in the off-season and the Clippers won the deal.
They also brought in another star, Paul George, and the former Oklahoma City Thunder star made his home debut for the Clippers in the win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Leonard missed out on that clash with a knee problem, but he could make a return against the Thunder on Monday (h/t CBS Sports).
While the Clippers learn to deal with all this firepower, the Thunder aren’t doing all that bad. They are 5-7 currently and ninth in the Western Conference, however, their away form has been dreadful.
Chris Paul is still with the team and it will be interesting to see how they deal with the firepower of the Clippers.
The Clippers demolished the Hawks 150-101 in their last game with George racking up 37 points.
Leonard didn’t feature in that game but could play against the Thunder. The Clippers will also have a lot of firepower from the bench in the form of Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell and JaMychal Green.
The Thunder also ran out 127-119 winners over the Philadelphia 76ers in their previous outing with Danilo Gallinari top scoring.
Chris Paul racked up 27 points while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 24 from 40 minutes.
With Leonard’s participation still doubtful, it might be better to select other players for the clash.
Terance Mann did a great job for the Clippers as he scored 13 points in the win over the Hawks and could start this clash.
The Thunder have a couple of quality players too with Paul and Dennis Schroeder selected for this position.
Lou Williams is possibly the best player off the bench, and should be selected if Leonard isn’t in the Dream 11 team.
George was excellent on his debut for the Clippers, and could have another big game against the Thunder.
Gallinari is the other option for this position and should be selected for this team.
Adbel Nader might not get a lot of points in the game, but his low value helps in balancing this Dream 11 team out.
Harrell is another Clipper that does well off the bench, and he could cause the Thunder a lot of problems in the game.
It has to be George. The former Indian Pacer has started his career with a bang in LA and looks set to continue that.
Even if the Clippers are without Leonard, they should be favourites for the game.
The Thunder do have a slight chance of getting the win, but they would need some great performances out of Paul and his teammates.
