Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool XI to face Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League

Liverpool played out an entertaining 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday in the Premier League and the Reds sit 3rd in the standings, just behind Chelsea on goal difference.

Jurgen Klopp’s men sit atop their group in the Champions League after a 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in their previous encounter and the Reds will be the favourites once again when they make the trip to Serbia for the return leg on Tuesday.

Team News

Xherdan Shaqiri has been left out for the trip to Serbia due to political reasons while Jordan Henderson continues to be on the sidelines to nurse his hamstring injury.

Naby Keita has been included in the 21-man team and will be pushing for a return following a hamstring issue.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Predicted XI

1. Alisson Becker (GK)

He was a bit awkward with his decision-making against Arsenal but has always been a reliable presence between the sticks this season.

2. Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster has always been solid at the back and has contributed equally to the attack.

3. Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman’s towering presence is an invaluable asset to the Reds’ backline.

4. Dejan Lovren (CB)

Klopp should give Joe Gomez a break and hand the Croatian international a start in the Champions League tie.

5. Andrew Robertson (LB)

The Scotsman has been largely solid at the back and Klopp will be expecting another good performance from him in front of a hostile crowd.

6. Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

He has been in good form this season and his pressing off the ball and game-reading are valuable assets to Liverpool’s midfield.

7. James Milner (LCM)

The veteran has been at the centre of everything that Liverpool have done this season and will once again play a key role on Tuesday.

8. Adam Lallana (RCM)

The Englishman hasn’t had much playtime in the Premier League this season but this might be a good opportunity for the manager to give him a go.

9. Mohamed Salah (RW)

He scored a hat-trick in the home fixture against the Serbian outfit and the manager has every reason to expect another goal fest from him.

10. Sadio Mane (LW)

He looked a bit off colour in the game against Arsenal but will be expected to retain his place in the team.
