The 29-year-old reached the quarterfinals of the Adelaide International 2 where she lost to Belinda Bencic. At the Australian Open, she couldn’t get past the fourth round as she lost to Magda Linette.

Garcia faced Tereza Martincova in the round of 32 of the Lyon Open. It was a tight affair as the Czech tennis pro gave a good account of herself. The world No. 5 sent in 8 aces and had a win percentage of 71 on the first serve. The match eventually ended in two competitive sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). Garcia has still not found the rhythm that she showed in the latter half of 2022. However, a win in this tournament can give her the momentum required.
