Carlos Alcaraz and Nikoloz Basilashvili will square off at the Madrid Open 2022 Round of 32 in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
Teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz is finding himself the centre of attention after the run he has had this season. The 18-year-old has already won three titles this season in the form of ATP 500 wins at Rio and Barcelona, as well as winning the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami.
Basilashvili has featured in eleven tournaments this season, but the Georgian has registered just four wins coming into the Madrid Open. The 30-year-old was unsuccessful in his bid to defend his Munich Open title last week with a straight-sets loss to in-form Miomir Kecmanovic.
Basilashvili’s poor form has stuck with him throughout this year. He also lost his other title defence to Roberto Bautista Agut in the Qatar Open final back in February.
