Manchester United in the chase for Isak Johannesson – A good signing for the future?
According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are in the race for Isak Bergmann Johannesson. The IFK Norrkoping starlet has attracted the attention of European super clubs with his performances for the Swedish side. Liverpool and Juventus are the other sides interested in the Icelander.

Isak Bergmann Johannesson is a 17-year-old Icelandic forward who plays for Swedish side IFK Norrkoping. A youth product of IA Akranes, he spent his entire youth career there before being promoted to the senior team in 2018.
However, he could make just one senior appearance before IFK Norrkoping signed him in 2019. While he played just one game for the side last season, it is in 2020 that he truly broke onto the scene.
In 27 appearances for Norrkoping so far, he has scored 4 goals and assisted 10 more (source – Transfermarkt). The forward is currently a part of the Iceland U-21 squad despite being just 17. He has a total of 20 appearances across all age groups for Iceland, scoring 11 goals.
A good signing for the future
When a 17-year-old has managed to capture the attention of Manchester United, you know the player has something special. Manchester United have always been a club to encourage youth and scout the best talent for their youth setup as well as the first-team.
Johannesson is rapidly making strides at Norrkoping. It is scary to think how good he can become in the future. A natural forward, he can play on either wing or in central midfield if required.
