Manchester United Opinion: 3 ideal loan destinations for Alexis Sanchez

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are prepared to ship Alexis Sanchez out on loan next season, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly of the opinion that the Chilean doesn’t have a future at Old Trafford.

United are aware of the fact that Sanchez’s sky-high wages will make it difficult for them to find potential suitors and a loan deal is likely to attract more clubs. (h/t Daily Mail)

The 30-year-old Chilean made his move to Man United from Premier League rivals Arsenal last season, with the Red Devils making the Chilean their highest paid player.

However, he hasn’t been able to justify his price tag and his career has been on the decline ever since his move to the Old Trafford, scoring just 5 goals from 42 appearances for his new club.

Sanchez has struggled for form and fitness and has looked like a shadow of his former self this season.

Quite clearly, his massive wages are proving to be a burden for the Red Devils and a move away from Old Trafford, possibly to a different league, might help the Chilean resurrect his faltering career. Here are 3 possible loan destinations for Sanchez if United actually plan to loan him out in the summer.

1. Paris Saint-Germain

The Chilean was linked with a move to the French capital prior to the January transfer window but a move failed to materialize.

However, with star man Kylian Mbappe linked with a move to Real Madrid next season, the reigning Ligue 1 champions should look to swoop for the hugely-experienced attacking ace.

Despite boasting of stalwarts like Neymar, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Mbappe in their ranks, PSG haven’t been able to replicate their domestic dominance on the European stage.

It has to be noted that Sanchez is not a player who lacks quality and a move to the best team in a relatively easier league should help him find his feet after a lean patch. Money has never been a problem for PSG and they are certainly capable of meeting Sanchez’s wages.

2. Real Madrid

It has been quite a long time since the Los Blancos signed a player of Sanchez’s stature, and with Gareth Bale’s future uncertain at the Bernabeu, the La Liga giants might as well try to bring in the Chilean to bolster their attacking options.

After an era of supreme dominance in Europe, which saw them claim three back-to-back Champions League titles under the stewardship of Zinedine Zidane, Madrid haven’t had the best of seasons this time around.

Twelve points adrift of leaders Barcelona in the La Liga and knocked out of the Champions League following a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of Ajax, Madrid are in dire need of reshaping their squad next summer.

They can look up to promising youngsters like Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Junior to deliver the goods next season but an experienced head like Sanchez might prove to be a bit of a compromised replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

3. Inter Milan

Juventus’s unparalleled dominance in the Serie A has once again left the likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan to fight it out for the Champions League spot. Inter are currently not short of attacking options, with the likes of Mauro Icardi, Ivan Perisic and Lautaro Martinez all in their ranks.

However, they should look to sign a few more high-profile players to restore their glory of the yesteryears and Alexis Sanchez certainly fits the bill.

Perisic has been linked with a move away from the San Siro in recent times and someone like Sanchez will not only make a like-for-like replacement for the Croatian but the Chilean can also turn Inter into Serie A title contenders if he starts firing next season.
