Manchester United Opinion: United must swap Pogba for Sandro + Dybala

According to a recent report by The Sun, Serie A champions Juventus are said to be eyeing up a summer move for French World Cup-winning star Paul Pogba on a permanent transfer from Manchester United.

Although the player is contracted at Old Trafford, it is suggested that Juventus are quietly confident of landing their man because they do have certain resources to offer in exchange.

It is being reported that the team from Turin are willing to even offer United two world-class players in exchange for Pogba returning to the club, where he had the best days of his playing career six far. It is being claimed that United have been offered a deal for Pogba which would involve Juventus stars Alex Sandro and Paulo Dybala moving to Old Trafford.

While there has been absolutely no mention of an additional fee involved, it’s hence safe to assume the value of these two players together is around the same as the current market value of Paul Pogba. Also, in today’s inflated footballing market, to get two world-class outfield players in exchange for one is a deal made in heaven.

Paul Pogba was a product of the Manchester United academy and although he had to work his way up the ranks and all the way into the first-team during his first spell, he was seen as a liability and sold to Juventus. When he began to show his true class, United decided to sign him back in the summer for a fairly cutthroat price.

Since moving back to the Premier League, Pogba has still been involved in some embarrassing moments as well as some individual errors. His contributions on the pitch are extremely limited. His work-rate and attitude are questionable for that of a professional Premier League footballer. A move back to Italy – where the pace of the game is slower and everything is more tactical – seems like the best fit for the Frenchman.

Alex Sandro is one of the players that United have been offered in exchange for Pogba. The 28-year-old Brazilian can be best described as a speedster who often dumbfounds defenders with his blistering pace and crossing abilities. He is an assured head and can operate on the left side of any back-line. Considering that Ashley Young has been nothing short of poor this season, this move would make sense for United.

Similarly, another position that United need to improve upon is in the forward line. While Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have both tried their hardest along the way, the addition of a world-class attacker like Paulo Dybala would take the United midfield to the next level. The 25-year-old has scored 5 goals and assisted 6 from 30 league games this season and having him in the side would be a huge bonus to any United manager.
