We have brought you the Maneater guide that has some of the best tips and tricks which will help you to survive in the game.

In Maneater, the player assumes control of a baby bull shark seeking revenge against shark hunter Scaly Pete, who killed its mother and disfigured it. In addition to charging into enemies, the shark has several basic attacks like slithering upward and whipping its tail to stun opponents. Players can also attack humans, wreaking havoc along the coast, destroying yachts and ships, and knocking people off jet skis, by using swordfish as spears. Swordfish serve as spears for the sharks. In order to gain nutrition, it hunts and consumes other aquatic wildlife such as fish and turtles.

In Port Clovis, players take on the role of a shark and can explore the wide-open world, and there are eight regions to explore: Caviar Keys, Crawfish Bay, Dead Horse Lake, Fawtick Bayou, Golden Shores, Prosperity Sands, Sapphire Bay, and the Gulf. As well as finding hidden landmarks and finishing side objectives, players can challenge each region’s own apex predator that will also kill the shark, such as muskellunge, barracudas, alligators, sperm whales, orcas, and even other sharks.

If you want to know some of the best tips and tricks of this game, then read our Maneater guide below.

Maneater Guide: Dodge

Maneater doesn’t have a stamina bar, so you won’t be limited in your movement when fighting other aquatic creatures, and you’ll need to make sure you dodge a lot. Other aquatic animals can attack very fast, and too many bounty hunters in large numbers can overwhelm you, so you’ll need to dodge attacks constantly to avoid attacks. Dodging will be especially helpful in encounters against some of the more dangerous predators in the game’s world during the early hours of the game when your shark isn’t so strong and formidable.

Maneater Guide: Detective Vision

If you have the Advanced Sonar upgrade you will be able to mark enemies, chests, mineral caches, and various other objects in the world, making it much easier to find them. Also, Sonar is one of the most useful abilities in the entire game. So equip this at all times while exploring the world, since it can mark enemies, chests, and other points of interest in the world. Basically, this is your Detective vision.

Keep eating

In order to survive, you will have to keep eating. Besides keeping your health up by munching on unfortunate humans and sea creatures, most creatures drop nutrients that can help you upgrade and unlock new skills and abilities for the game.

Find Yellow Plants and lights

In Maneater’s underwater tunnels and caverns, it’s easy to become lost, but if you always swim towards yellow plants and lights, you’ll always find your way back. This is a nice little design addition that helps with navigation. Therefore, the Yellow plants are like saviors whenever you are lost.

Keep upgrading

If you’re anticipating combat, then increase damage and health. Similarly, if you’re searching for collectibles, boost your nutrient absorption. As you progress through Maneater, you’ll unlock different evolutions and abilities that your shark can equip. Some of these give you electric shock powers, while others allow you to swim faster.

Sometimes Island is not that bad

If you have been out of the water for a while, your oxygen bar depletes after a while, but you can just tank the damage and re-enter the water. Choosing a human target, taking a shortcut, or avoiding larger Predators by escaping to land until they go away will definitely help. Therefore, staying on the island sometimes is not that bad.

Keep exploring

You’ll be able to access new areas within the game’s open-world as your shark’s power grows, so keep in mind that exploring will yield the most rewards when you’re also backtracking. Explore the open world, complete optional activities, and search for all the collectibles.

Beware of the Hunters

You should keep eating injured hunters who fall into the sea so you can replenish your health. Sometimes they will come at you in multiple boats, so you should keep switching targets. If you continue to target one boat in particular, you could easily get overwhelmed by the rest. You can also retreat into the sewers or deeper waters if you feel those hunters are tracking you, and then return with restored energy to face them.

Priority upgrades

The Amphibious upgrade, allows you to survive longer and move faster on land. It can be quite useful when you’re trying to take shortcuts or just want more time to chomp on humans or destroy property, while Mineral Digestion increases how much health and minerals you get from eating enemies. Reinforced Cartilage increases your resistance to damage, and there’s Advanced Sonar, of course, which we already spoke of.

You can run away too

It is not a bad thing to run away when you feel that you cannot fight anymore. Sometimes, if you just try to battle without any precautions, it can result in your death. So, there is nothing wrong with running away from the enemies. Everything is fine if you are alive, so do anything to stay alive and survive longer to get more rewards.
