Predicted Norwich City XI to face Aston Villa in the Championship

Norwich City confirmed their promotion to the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers in the Championship last week, courtesy of goals from Marco Stiepermann and Mario Vrancic.

The Canaries, though, still have plenty to play for heading into the final game of the season away from home against Aston Villa. Daniel Farke’s side need at least a point from the clash on Sunday to get their hands of the Championship crown.

Villa, on the other hand, have already guaranteed themselves a spot in the promotion-playoffs and Dean Smith’s side will be looking to finish the season on a high after playing out a 1-1 draw against Leeds United last week.

Team News

Daniel Farke doesn’t have too many injuries to contend with heading into the game on Sunday. Tom Trybull is doubtful to feature due to a knock, while Louis Thompson and Carlton John Morris will also be unavailable.

Predicted XI

1. Tim Krul (GK)

The former Dutch international has looked vulnerable between the sticks in recent games but he will be expected to continue in goal for the game on Sunday.

2. Max Aarons (RB)

The youngster made some crucial blocks and tackles in the last game and has always been influential figure down the right-hand side of the pitch.

3. Ben Godfrey (CB)

The Englishman put in another impressive performance against Blackburn last week and he should retain his spot in the eleven.

4. Christoph Zimmermann (CB)

The German looked calm and comfortable on the ball in his previous outing and has been one of the mainstays of Norwich’s backline throughout the campaign.

8. Emiliano Buendia (RW)

The Argentinian registered his 17th assist of the season in the last game, which goes on to show what an influential figure he has been since his move to Carrow Road last summer.

9. Onel Hernandez (LW)

The German has been a valuable source of goals and assists down the left flank and Norwich will need him to come up with another solid display on Sunday against Villa.
