Mark Martin’s iconic Ford vehicles like Ford Taurus and Ford Thunderbird brought him wins in NASCAR. In the IROC, Martin drove Dodge Avenger and Pontiac Firebird cars. His wins in the Southern 500 and Coca-Cola 600 also came through Ford cars. He had sponsors from Folgers Coffee, Stroh, Winn-Dixie, and Viagra.

Mark Martin also drove a Chevrolet Impala vehicle. His #5 Chevrolet Impala and Buick cars had sponsors from Valvoline, Go Daddy, and Pop-Tarts. Mark Martin drove Ford vehicles in the Daytona races for 20 years. He also drove Toyota and Pontiac vehicles in the Nationwide series.

Mark Martin Car Accidents

Mark Martin’s first major accident was in the 1999 Pepsi 400 event. He was driving at 190 mph and hit the wall after tires burst. Martin’s knee, ribs, and wrist were damaged, but he continued to race without any breaks. In 2012, Mark Martin was involved in a big crash at Pure Michigan 400. Martin was racing in his #55 Toyota and made contact with two racers on lap 65 and hit the pit road. The oil tank was damaged and the car caught fire. Mark Martin suffered minor bruises and survived the incident.

Mark Martin was involved in other crashes in 2009 Talladega and 1999 Sonoma. In 2011, Martin was again part of accidents in the Budweiser Shootout and  Daytona 500. Mark Martin suffered many car accidents during his NASCAR days, but he was lucky to get away without major injuries. The 2012 accident was a nightmare for Mark Martin.

Mark Martin won many races with his favorite Ford vehicle. His lucky number for Ford was #6. He drove #6 in all major Ford cars including Taurus, Fusion, and Thunderbird. In 2009, Mark Martin drove #5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports and finished second in the Cup Series.

In the NASCAR Busch series, Mark Martin’s numbers were #1, #31, #26, #2, #60, #6, and #5. He drove Pontiac, Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota cars. Mark Martin’s wins in IROC came in different car numbers. In his career, Mark Martin used #6 cars more than other numbers for the Roush Racing team. He also used #99 Ford for the same team in the 1996 Truck Series.
