Real Madrid are seeking a possibility to make a double swoop, in order to sign Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard from Chelsea. The European champions are reportedly offering £225m to the London club to snap up both the Belgians, as they bid to start a new era under Julien Lopetegui.
The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo has increased their funds and the new manager must get players to start afresh. For Chelsea though, it will be a massive blow if they allow Hazard and Courtois to leave, particularly after Maurizio Sarri’s arrival
It is a cliche that when Eden Hazard dazzles, Chelsea blaze along with him. Similarly, if Thibaut Courtois is rock-solid between the sticks, the Blues look unbeatable. It is true that both players have done their bits to help Chelsea lift the Premier League trophy twice in three years. Hence, their wish to change clubs isn’t that baffling.
But from Chelsea’s point of view, it will be a disaster if they offload two of their key components as that will leave their new manager in a predicament. Instead, the Blues must offer them new contracts and allow Sarri to work magic with them.
The Italian is in dire need of quality players like Hazard and Courtois to structure his team. Both players are a part of Chelsea’s spine, which might get wrecked upon their departures. Furthermore, Sarri’s will suit these two without a doubt.
While Hazard provides the spark in a high-pressing structural passing game, Courtois will provide solidity and reliability to a high-line defence.

The prospect of not playing Champions League football next season has clearly impacted both the Belgians. However, a high-class manager like Sarri should tempt them to stay and be a part of something special.
Therefore, the Blues should resist any offer coming from the Spanish capital, and focus on achieving their long-term goals with Sarri and these two players. This will be a sagacious decision which might help them regain their lost identity sooner rather than later.
