Max Verstappen and Alex Albon took part in the latest Red Bull Racing podcast and spoke on a few topics

Max Verstappen doesn’t like to be called ‘Mad Max’, a moniker he earned during his early days in F1.

The Dutch racer made it big in the F1 paddock as a teen and had some red mist moments with Red Bull.

There were some clashes with Sebastian Vettel that caught the attention of the fans, and he was called Mad Max by a few.

For those who have stayed away from films, Mad Max is a movie series, with the last one ‘Fury Road’ featuring a lot more of crazy fuelled vehicles.

While Verstappen has become more mature as a racer, the tag has stuck. Albon and his teammate were part of the Red Bull Racing podcast.

The Thai racer had some fun responses with Verstappen, and this mini conversation highlighted how the Dutchman wasn’t happy with the moniker:

Albon: “What’s the common rumour about you, that isn’t actually true.”

Verstappen: “Mad Max.”

Albon: “That was very quick, so you’re not mad?”

Verstappen: “Not mad, it’s easy to rhyme. I don’t agree with it.”

Verstappen looking to make a good start

Red Bull have a tough task ahead of them this season, especially with Mercedes looking great in pre-season testing.

However, Verstappen was hopeful that his team could cut the gap to the top two teams in the first race.

Red Bull have a history of becoming strong in the second half of a season, and it will be interesting to see what happens in Australia.

Verstappen finished a career-best third in the driver’s championship last season, but he needs a car that can fight with Ferrari and Mercedes.

The Dutch racer is possibly the most gifted in the paddock, and we could see him improve upon last season in 2020.
