Max Verstappen shares his thoughts on teammate Alex Albon after first season as pair

Red Bull decided to swap things midway through the season and made Alex Albon the teammate for Max Verstappen

Red Bull pair Max Verstappen and Alex Albon were interviewed by Sky Sports ahead of the new 2020 F1 season.

It was a bit of a crazy season for Albon as he was initially racing for Toro Rosso but was pushed into the Red Bull team as a replacement for Pierre Gasly.

The Thai-British racer had some great performances in the second half of the season and was unlucky to miss out on a podium in the Brazilian Grand Prix too.

Apart from that race, Albon finished no lower than sixth in his nine races for Red Bull but he was overshadowed by Verstappen.

The Dutch racer picked up three wins and will, once again, be the No.1 for Red Bull. Verstappen will be looking to make a big splash this season too but had some kind words for Albon:

“He’s been good, he’s been a good teammate. I know Alex for a very long time since go-karting and he’s a very nice straightforward guy and very relaxed as well, so I think he fits very well into the team.”

Albon also answered several questions about his first season in F1 and claimed that last year he didn’t know what to expect but he was geared up for next season.

Red Bull to challenge the top two?

Verstappen also spoke about the challenge of facing Ferrari and Mercedes.
