The 34-year-old reached the fourth round at the Australian Open and the quarterfinals of the Open Sud de France, the Dallas Open, the Delray Beach Open, and the Atlanta Open. Mannarino made it to the semifinals of the Libema Open, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets 7-5, 7-5.

His best performance came in the Winston-Salem Open, where he defeated Laslo Djere in the final to become the oldest player and only the second left-hander to win the tournament. The southpaw couldn’t replicate the brilliant performance at the US Open as he was ousted in the first round in straight sets by Gijs Brouwer.

The world No. 100 has blown hot and cold this year. He has shown his skills in a few tournaments whereas in others, he has flattered to deceive.

He reached the quarterfinals in Adelaide International 1 and in Vancouver. The 24-year-old has also made it to two finals at the Open Sud de France and the Citi Open. Like Mannarino, Ymer is also coming into the Metz Open on the back of a first-round exit at the US Open.
