Michael Bisping MMA Career and UFC Record

Michael Bisping made his MMA debut on the 10th of April, 2004 at Pride&Glory 2: Battle of the Ages, against Steve Mathews.

‘The Count’ predominantly fought in the United Kingdom until he went 10-0 up in his MMA career. He eventually won the Cage Warriors Light-heavyweight Championship and defending it thrice before moving to the UFC.

Bisping made his UFC debut on the 24th of June, 2006 at The Ultimate Fighter: Team Ortiz vs Team Shamrock Finale.

He beat Josh Haynes via. TKO in the second round. 6 months later, Bisping made his promotional debut at UFC 66 against Eric Schafer and earned yet another TKO victory.

The Brit suffered his first-ever defeat at the hands of Rashad Evans at UFC 78. He lost via. split decision.

Following a three-fight win streak, Bisping suffered the first KO loss of his career, against Dan Henderson at UFC 100. At UFC 110, Bisping lost to Wanderlei Silva, before going on a four-fight win streak.

Bisping then lost to Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort in quick succession. A three-fight win streak after a loss against Luke Rockhold, earned Bisping a shot at the middleweight title.

This time it was against Rockhold himself, who had become the middleweight champion after beating Chris Weidman in 2015.

At UFC 199, Bisping defeated Rockhold in the very first round via. KO to win the middleweight championship, thereby becoming the first British UFC champion.

He then defended his title once in a rematch against Dan Henderson at UFC 204, before losing it to the legendary Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217.

Bisping then lost to Kelvin Gastelum in November 2017 – a devastating KO loss. He retired from the sport following this fight. His MMA record read 30 wins and 9 losses.

On the 5th of July, 2019 Bisping was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

In 2013, Bisping suffered a retinal detachment when he succumbed to a head kick loss against Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX: Belfort vs Bisping. He has vision only in one eye.
