Michael J Fox Parkinsons: At a US fan event, “Back to the Future” actor Michael J. Fox fell to the ground while admitting that his Parkinson’s disease struggle is becoming “harder.”
The 61-year-old actor, who is now retired, stumbled on stage last weekend at Fan Expo in Philadelphia during a Q&A session for the legendary movie. Fox, who was given a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 1991, could be seen losing his balance as he moved across the platform in a devastating video.
The fact that the actor landed on a couch in front of him rather than on the ground somewhat lessened the force of his fall. The performer took his place and continued with the panel, appearing unharmed and in high spirits.
On the occasion, Fox was accompanied by his Back to the Future co-star’s Tom Wilson, 64, and Christopher Lloyd, 84.
Only a little more than a month prior, the celebrity had disclosed that his decades-long struggle with Parkinson’s, a chronic degenerative condition that affects the neurological system and motor skills, was becoming “harder.” Fox, who portrayed Marty McFly in all three films, wore a denim jacket, a white T-shirt, and black pants for the occasion. He completed the look with a baseball cap, a pair of clear-rimmed glasses, and a pair of white Nike trainers.

In contrast, Lloyd, who played Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown in the movie, looked relaxed in trousers, a long-sleeved blouse, and a black puffer vest. Wilson, who portrayed the bully Biff Tannen, chose a traditional navy jacket and pants.
Fans, who were thrilled to see the ensemble back together almost 40 years after the original movie hit the big screen, asked the trio questions as they sat next to each other on stage.
When Michael J Fox was chosen to play teenage time traveler Marty McFly in Back to the Future in 1985, the five-time Emmy winner had already established himself as the breakout star of the comedy Family Ties.
A critical and financial hit, the movie brought in more than $388 million at the box office. In the 1989 sequel Back to the Future Part II, Fox played the same role while going into the future. Since Fox was so well-liked, he was able to land a dual role in Back to the Future Part III, playing both Marty and his ancestor Seamus McFly and returning to the Wild West to prevent Doc Brown from being killed by a gunslinger.
