Mick Foley wanted Donald Trump to be removed from the WWE Hall of Fame
Strangely enough, the outgoing President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, is a WWE Hall of Fame inductee.
And on 6th January, another WWE Hall of Famer, Mick Foley, asked for Trump to be thrown out of the exclusive list. He put Vince McMahon on the spot by tagging him to ask for the soon-to-be-former President’s exclusion.
This plea from Mick Foley comes just hours after Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.
The invasion that took place on 6th January was to try and stop the certification of the electoral college vote. This would have seen Joe Biden become the President of the country on January 20th, 2021.
Vince McMahon inducted Donald Trump in the WWE Hall of Fame
This ‘invasion’ is undoubtedly caused by Donald Trump’s supporters. Trump himself rallied for people to join and protest.
In the aftermath, Twitter banned Trump for 12 hours and people called out his ignorance and bigotry to let this invasion happen without doing anything to stop his supporters.
Kevin Nash also had his say on the matter and took to Twitter to ask for Trump to be removed immediately. He asks for GOP to act wisely and for Mike Pence to take over until Presidency is passed to Biden in 2 weeks’ time.
Trump has cordial relations with Vince McMahon. Vince inducted Trump into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 and spoke about their involvement during WrestleMania IV and V.
Moreover, Trump was also at WrestleMania 23 and ‘purchased’ Monday Night RAW from McMahon in 2009.
Despite these little marketing gimmicks, the WWE CEO should know better than to have a person like Trump reside in the Hall of Fame with some true greats.
