Tate then lost her title in the very next match to Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 in the very first round of the fight.
Following her defeat against Raquel Pennington in the next fight at UFC 205, Tate announced her retirement from the sport. Her MMA record stands at 18 wins and 7 losses.
5 years after her retirement, Tate returned on the 17th of July against Marion Reneau. She won the fight via. TKO in the third round.
