Michael William Gesicki (born October 3, 1995) is a National Football League tight end for the Miami Dolphins (NFL). He attended Penn State University and there he played football. He holds the record for most tight end receptions in Penn State history. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Early years
Gesicki’s early years were spent at Southern Regional High School in Stafford Township, New Jersey, where he participated in football, basketball, and volleyball.
He finished as the Rams’ all-time leading receiver, with 1,817 yards on 103 grabs and 16 touchdowns.
College career
From 2014 until 2017, Gesicki attended and played collegiate football at Penn State. In July 2017, Gesicki was named to the John Mackey Award watchlist, which is given to the best tight end in college football.
Professional career
Gesicki was taken 42nd overall by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Gesicki was the second tight end selected in the 2018 draft.

Gesicki scored his first career receiving touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12 of the 2019 season on an 11-yard reception from Ryan Fitzpatrick. In a 38-35 overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16, he had six receptions for 82 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Gesicki ended the 2019 season with 51 receptions, 570 yards, and five receiving touchdowns.
Gesicki ended Week 2 of the 2020 season against the Buffalo Bills with eight receptions for 130 yards and his first touchdown of the season. It was the first time in his NFL career he had 100+ receiving yards in a single game, but the Dolphins fell 28-31. In a 33-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, he had five receptions for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Gesicki concluded the 2020 season with 53 receptions for 706 yards and six receiving touchdowns.
The Dolphins gave Gesicki the franchise tag on March 8, 2022.
