Milwaukee Bucks news: The Phoenix Suns hold a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals 2021 over The Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks faced an ugly defeat in Game 2 of the 2021 NBA Finals. They lost 118-108 to the Phoenix Suns.
Giannis Antetokounmpo put up a one-man show but it was not enough to secure a win for the Bucks. The forward scored a postseason career-high of 42 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in 40 minutes.
On the other hand, Phoenix Suns trio – Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton finished the job combining for 81 points and taking a good lead of 2-0 in the series. 11-time All-Star Chris Paul is having a phenomenal season after carrying the written-off Phoenix Suns to the finals.
With just two wins away from their first title, the Suns own all the momentum but the series now shifts back to Milwaukee for Game 3 at Fiserv Forum. The match is on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
After injuring his knee in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Giannis himself admitted that he thought he was going to be out for a year. Instead, he came back in for the Finals, straight-out dominating.
“We know what the deal is. You know it’s as simple as that,” said a motivated Antetokounmpo in his post-match press conference.
“We gotta go back and do our job. They did their job, we gotta do ours. We have been here before. We gotta go back and protect home.”
The Bucks have found themselves in deep trouble as they lose the first two games of the NBA Finals. In the first game, the Bucks lost 118-105 and on the second 118-108.
In a forgettable second game, the Bucks struggled with consistent outside shooting as they put up a weak 9-for-31 from deep. Suns, however, set a franchise playoff record of 3-pointers, scoring 20-for-40 from downtown.
The Suns are aiming to win their maiden NBA title while the Bucks will be trying hard to stay in the title contention. Nevertheless, whoever wins, they will be champions on their own merit.
