Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested for DUI and booked into Gwinnett County Jail after 4 a.m. on Friday.
Atlanta Braves outfield Marcell Ozuna once again found himself in trouble. After a disappointing season for him so far, he was recently arrested for DUI.
This is a bad look for both the player and the franchise, as many athletes are getting booked on DUI. Due to it, last year Raiders WR Henry Ruggs was arrested as he was involved in a brutal accident.
Despite all that, Marcell Ozuna showed carelessness and hurt his ball club, as well as himself. His return to the team isn’t clear yet, but Ozuna wouldn’t have wanted to be a part of it.
According to David O’Brien: #Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested for DUI and booked into Gwinnett County Jail after 4 a.m. Friday. This is less than 15 months after his arrest on domestic-violence charges, and 11 months after he entered a diversion program and was placed on 6 months of probation.
He added: In 155 games since start of 2021 season, #Braves’ Ozuna has .214 BA, .271 OBP, .381 slug%(.653 OPS) w/ 27 homers, 153 Ks in 603 ABs (655 PAs). He has a 76 OPS+ in that span, after posting 177 OPS+ in 60 games in shortened 2020 season, when he led NL in homers (18) and RBIs (56)
MLB fans were upset with Ozuna’s actions, and trolled him on Twitter, while expressing sorrow as well. Here are some of the best fan reactions to Ozuna getting stopped by cops for DUI:
