How did Alek Thomas play last season?

All you need to know about how did Arizona Diamondbacks player Alek Thomas play in the last MLB season.

Last year in May, Alek Thomas made history by being the first player born in the 2000s to make his major league debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks. As Arizona took home the World Series trophy, he had just turned eighteen months old.

Thomas was drafted by the team in the second round of the 2018 draught after he graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago. His debut came a little under three years after the organization made the selection. He made an immediate impact by batting.333 among our two rookie affiliates in that year, and the following year, he followed it up by batting.300 across A-ball and High-A levels.

When everything got back to normal, Thomas once again divided his time between two different levels, beginning 2021 in AA and then moving up to Triple-A, where he batted.369 with a 1.051 — despite the fact that Reno scepticism still applies. Alek did not make it into the Opening Day roster of the D-backs despite the fact that he was the top prospect for the organization entering the regular season. Instead, he began 2022 with the Aces. However, with less than a month gone by in the season, Thomas was given the opportunity to join the team after Carson Kelly was forced to go on the injured reserve list.

But, he also faced his fair share of challenges. The statistics that follow demonstrate that, in point of fact, Thomas showed clear signs of declining performance as the season progressed.
