All you need to know about the pitching depth and rotation of the New York Mets for the 2023 MLB season.
The New York Mets head into the 2023 Major League Baseball season with lofty goals of claiming the title of world champions. The Mets had a dissatisfying finish to their previous season, so they made some moves, during which they also lost some key players, but they are now well-positioned to compete for a championship this year.
The Mets had one of the strongest pitching staffs in all of Major League Baseball the previous year, but they were unable to retain Jacob DeGrom owing to free agency. Kodai Senga and Justin Verlander, both of whom will assist Max Scherzer during the season, were acquired by the team as replacements for him.
Even though the Mets will not have Edwin Diaz for the rest of the season due to an injury he sustained at the World Baseball Classic, there is still a chance that they will cause some commotion in the National League this year.
If the Mets starters manage to stay healthy they have a great chance of beating any team come the postseason but health will play a huge part. To start the season, three of their starting rotation guys are on the IR which is a big concern.
