Fernando Tatis Jr. claimed it was heartbreaking to see Eric Hosmer getting traded but knows it’s part of the business.
Juan Soto was recently traded to the San Diego Padres. It was one of the biggest trades that we have ever seen in baseball history. The Padres gave up a lot to acquire Soto but it was worth it.
According to Jeff Passan of ESPN: The San Diego Padres are finalizing a deal to acquire superstar outfielder Juan Soto from Washington, sources tell ESPN. One of the biggest deals in baseball history goes down, and it sends the 23-year-old to SD, where he will team with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado.
The Padres were looking to package Eric Hosmer as part of the deal. However, it was a part of his no-trade exemption, and he chose not to get traded to the Nationals. Instead, he was later traded to the Boston Red Sox. Hosmer was a crucial part of their clubhouse, and superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. knows the impact Hosmer had on the team.
When asked about how he felt about the exit of Eric Hosmer, Fernando Tatis Jr. said, “It’s heartbreaking, it’s heartbreaking, um since I they got they called me up or even before that you know Hosmer was the guy that put me under his wing, and you know you take care of me all the time and the road trips and uh he’s he’s like it’s like a father for me in this game.”
