Manny Machado was upset that the team had to lose Eric Hosmer, but was happy to see Juan Soto getting on the team.

Juan Soto was recently traded to the San Diego Padres. It was one of the biggest trades that we have ever seen in baseball history. The Padres gave up a lot to acquire Soto but it was worth it.

According to Jeff Passan of ESPNThe San Diego Padres are finalizing a deal to acquire superstar outfielder Juan Soto from Washington, sources tell ESPN. One of the biggest deals in baseball history goes down, and it sends the 23-year-old to SD, where he will team with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado.

The Padres were looking to package Eric Hosmer as part of the deal. However, it was a part of his no-trade exemption, and he chose not to get traded to the Nationals. Instead, he was later traded to the Boston Red Sox. Hosmer had been with the Padres for a very long time, and his impact on their clubhouse was immense.

Manny Machado was asked about how he felt on the exit of Hosmer. He said, Yeah I mean uh you know it’s it’s the only worst part of the year, um you know it’s kind of, um you know you get one of the best hitters in the game and uh you know you lose one of the one of the better teammates and one of the best teammates around in the league, and um you know it’s off it’s awful to kind of be a part of it and kind of see it”

Manny Machado knows it’s part of the business

Manny Machado has been in the league for quite some time now. He knows players get traded on the deadline, and it is usually heartbreaking. Machado knows that they lost Hosmer, but in return, they have got one of the best players in baseball.

Machado further talked about the deal and said, “You know how it happens um you know but at the same time you’re getting one of the best players at the same time so um you know we love Hos um you know Hos was a big part of this as this organization was a you know really big part of this this this team”

He added, “You know he’s true leader and in all aspects of the game so um you know he’s he’s definitely going to be missed and um you know uh you know we’ll always be rooting for him and I know he’ll be rooting for us…”

Eric Hosmer will still be on a decent team in Boston. He didn’t want to go to the Nationals because they were in a rebuild mode, and due to his age, it would not have been a good option for him. On the other hand, the Padres have got a lot better now.

The San Diego Padres are ready to make a run toward the World Series

The Padres have done some pretty good business on the trade deadline. Among the prominent arrivals were Juan Soto, Josh Bell, and Josh Hader. All three of these players have made the Padres a way better team.

They have fixed all the holes in their squad. With Fernando Tatis Jr. scheduled to return soon, this team has got a legitimate chance of winning the World Series.

The trio of Manny Machado, Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr. is going to be lethal. It would be a tough task for any pitching corps to deal with the Padres, which is why this team will be exciting to watch for years to come.
