All you need to know about the fan who caught the historic 62nd home run ball hit by Aaron Judge.
Cory Youmans, a man from Dallas who caught Aaron Judge’s record-breaking home run ball in October, had the opportunity to earn an additional $1.5 million from the sale of the historical artefact. However, he decided against doing so. According to ESPN’s claim, Youmans, who is the husband of former Bachelor Nation contestant Bri Amaranthus, declined a private bid of $3 million for the ball because he wanted to maintain transparency in the transaction.
Youmans, who is a vice president at a local branch of Fisher Investments, provided an explanation for his decision in a statement that was distributed by the auction firm Goldin after the ball was sold over the weekend to a buyer who was only named as “Joe.”
Youmans made the catch on October 4 at Globe Life Field, which is home to the Texas Rangers. According to the MLB, he was situated in left field at the time of the incident, precisely in Section 31, Row 1, Seat 3 when everything went down.
Judge, who is now 30, hit home run number 62 in a single American League season, breaking the record formerly held by Roger Maris, who set it in 1961. The only players in the history of Major League Baseball to hit more home runs in a single season were Sammy Sosa (66), Mark McGuire (70), and Barry Bonds (73), despite the fact that baseball fans frequently put an asterisk next to their accomplishments due to allegations that they used performance-enhancing drugs.
