Published by

All you need to know about the health of Houston Astros star player Yordan Alvarez ahead of the upcoming 2023 MLB season.

The manager of the Houston Astros, Dusty Baker, informed reporters on Sunday that slugger Yordan Alvarez has not yet taken a swing with a bat. This comes on the heels of a 2022 season in which the slugger fought with soreness in both hands many times throughout the year.

Just a week after it was revealed that Alvarez was suffering from soreness in his left hand. Early rumors indicated that Alvarez would start swinging the bat in the following days, but it is evident that this did not come to fruition. Clearly, Alvarez did not start swinging the bat.

There is a paucity of information available regarding the circumstance, with both Baker and Alvarez himself downplaying the significance of the problem while simultaneously repeatedly declining to elaborate or disclose specifics.

Alvarez, who is only 25 years old, was one of the top hitters in all of baseball during the previous season. In 2022, he posted a slash line of.306/.406/.613, which resulted in a wRC+ of 185. This score placed him in second place among qualifying MLB players, behind only Aaron Judge.
