All you need to know about which team will Cody Bellinger be playing for in the 2023 MLB season.
Cody Bellinger was born on July 13, 1995 in Scottsdale, AZ. He is the son of Clay Bellinger, a former big leaguer who won two World Series with the New York Yankees. Bellinger began playing baseball at a young age and spent a lot of time as a kid hanging out in major league clubhouses. He represented Chandler, Arizona in the Little League World Series when he was 10 years old. The competition was held in 2007.
Bellinger was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. A $700,000 signing incentive influenced his decision to turn professional right away. Bellinger began his professional career with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Arizona League affiliate shortly after graduating from high school and before signing with the Dodgers.
Bellinger has since played in the minor leagues, where he has experienced both success and disappointment. In the 2023 MLB season, he will play for the Chicago Cubs.
He had a.248 batting average, 652 hits, 152 home runs, 422 RBIs, and 434 runs scored in six seasons with the Dodgers. He has one Gold Glove, one MVP, one Rookie of the Year award, one Silver Slugger award, one League Championship MVP award, and one World Series title.
