All you need to know about which team does star pitcher Roki Sasaki plays for apart from representing Japan.

Star Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki doesn’t play in the MLB, but he could soon be seen in the USA after he impressed everyone at the World Baseball Classic. Sasaki currently plays for Pacific League’s Chiba Lotte Marines.

On Monday night, the 21-year-old right-hander will start for Japan in a World Baseball Classic semifinal match versus Mexico. This will be the first time he will pitch in a ballpark that is located in the United States.

Because of Shohei Ohtani’s achievements, it is possible that American teams will be interested in acquiring Sasaki if and when Chiba decides to post him. Ohtani became one of Major League Baseball’s most promising players after signing a contract with the Los Angeles Angels at the age of 23 ahead of the 2018 season.
